Mr. Moorer is one of the eight partners who established the firm in 1990 and served as its Managing Partner from 1995-2006.  He was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1981 and in 1981-1982 clerked for the Honorable Sam C. Pointer, Chief Judge of the Northern District of Alabama.  His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, including class actions, securities fraud, professional liability, and real estate.

Mr. Moorer graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama in 1978, was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received the Outstanding Pre-Law Student Award.  He earned his J.D. in 1981 from the University of Alabama School of Law where he received the Hugo Black Scholar Award and was elected President of its Bench & Bar Honor Society.  Mr. Moorer is a member of the Litigation Council of America and was named a Top Commercial Litigation Lawyer by The American Lawyer and Who's Who in the Birmingham legal community.

Mr. Moorer served on the Birmingham Bar Association's Executive Committee, Grievance Committee, Foundation Board, chaired its Civil Court Procedures Committee and ADR Committee, and is a member and past Secretary/Treasurer of the Birmingham Inns of Court.  Among his civic leadership positions, Mr. Moorer served as Chairman of Operation New Birmingham, is a Trustee of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Birmingham Innovation Group and Birmingham-Southern College Norton Board of Advisors.  Mr. Moorer is also a member of the Leadership Birmingham Class of 2001 and past Chairman of the Birmingham Business Hall of Fame.
