Mr. Waldrop was one of the founding partners of Lightfoot, Franklin & White at the inception of the firm in January 1990.  His practice emphasizes business and commercial litigation, as well as providing construction-related advice and litigation service to the firm's construction industry clients.  He also regularly defends insurance and finance companies in claims by consumers and individuals alleging fraud, breach of contract, or inadequate performance of the insurance policy or financial product, including both individual and class actions.  Mr. Waldrop has substantial experience in securities litigation and shareholder disputes, including close corporation and partnership disputes.  He frequently represents businesses in disputes involving non-competition agreements and in matters involving trade secrets or proprietary or confidential information, Mr. Waldrop also handles commercial cases on behalf of plaintiff business or corporate interests. 

Mr. Waldrop is heavily involved in alternative dispute resolution, representing clients in arbitrations and mediations but also serving as an arbitrator and mediator.  Arbitration experience includes NASD, AAA, and privately administered arbitration proceedings.

Mr. Waldrop was admitted to the bar in Alabama in 1982, and in addition to being admitted to all Alabama state and federal courts, is also a member of the bars of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Federal Claims and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. 

Mr. Waldrop is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama Bar Association, and the Birmingham Bar Association.  He served as President of the Business Torts and Antitrust Law Section of the Alabama State Bar in 1994-1995.  He is a member of various sections of the American Bar Association including the Section of Litigation, the Torts & Insurance Practice Section, and the Public Contracts Law Section.  He is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.  He also is actively involved in coaching of youth athletics, including girls softball.
