Since joining the firm in 2005, Mr. Greggs has focused his practice on product liability actions, claims against directors and officers, and construction and other contract disputes.
In his product liability practice, Mr. Greggs has handled cases alleging defects in automobiles, construction equipment, consumer products, and pharmaceutical products. His director’s and officer’s liability practice focuses primarily on the defense of individual directors and officers who have been made the target of lawsuits alleging breaches of fiduciary duties. Also, in addition to handling general contract disputes, Mr. Greggs has experience handling construction disputes arising from undisclosed site conditions and incomplete plans.
Representative Matters Include:
·        Defense of personal injury lawsuits alleging defects in bucket lifts and forklifts.
·        Defense of multiple personal injury lawsuits arising from the recall of a mouthwash due to the presence of bacteria.
·        Defense of various former directors and officers of a national insurance group, who were made the target of a fiduciary duty action by the trustee of the company after it was placed into bankruptcy.
·        Successful representation of a general contractor that contracted with the State of Alabama in proceedings before the State of Alabama Building Commission concerning an equitable adjustment sought for additional time and expenditures encountered due to undisclosed site conditions and incomplete as-bid project drawings.
Originally from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Mr. Greggs received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the Computer Based Honors Program. Mr. Greggs then received his law degree cum laude from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he served as Senior Articles Editor of the Law Review.
Mr. Greggs and his wife live in Homewood, Alabama.
