After graduating in 1988 from the Cumberland School of Law, where he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, Mike started his litigation practice. He was one of the original lawyers when the firm was established in 1990. In addition to arbitrations and appellate work, Mike has a great deal of jury experience at that ultimate point "when it matters most." He has tried to verdict scores of cases, from routine one-to-two week trials to complex trials that have lasted a month or more. He was one of the youngest Alabama lawyers to be recognized in the Best Lawyers in America for his personal injury defense work. Mike was recently recognized in Alabama Superlawyers for his work in Personal Injury Defense and Business Litigation.
Mike's courtroom successes have given him the opportunity to represent medical professionals, product manufacturers, the consumer services industry and virtually every industry embroiled in commercial litigation. His fundamental philosophy is to fight hard and fair to make sure his client's side of the story is communicated effectively and directly to jurors, and he is committed to making certain that creative, out-of-the-box approaches are used to connect with the decision makers.
In addition to his trial work and frequent speaking engagements for both legal events and clients looking to improve their services, Mike is a husband, father of three and an avid golfer.
