Prior to joining Lightfoot in 2017, Rachelle accumulated a remarkable depth of courtroom experience. She was a criminal prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in Arizona, one of the largest counties in the country. She has:

• First chaired more than 200 bench trials
• First chaired jury trials
• Handled more than 600 sentencing hearings
• Handled hundreds of substantive motion hearings

Rachelle has now brought that invaluable trial experience to Lightfoot’s white collar crime and civil practices.

Rachelle attended the Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University where she earned her bachelors in Philosophy Summa Cum Laude. She then attended the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University where she served on the American Bar Association’s Jurimetrics journal as an Articles Editor and earned her J.D. Cum Laude in 2015. In undergrad and in law school, Rachelle obtained substantial experience with the federal justice system by working for U.S. District Judge Paul G. Rosenblatt, the U.S. Attorney’s Office (District of Arizona), the U.S. Marshals Service, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.

The Arizona Prosecuting Attorney’s Advisory Council selected Rachelle as the 2014-2015 Truman Young Prosecutorial Fellow, which is offered to one law student in the state of Arizona each year. It afforded Rachelle the opportunity to be the only law student authorized that year to appear in Federal Court on behalf of the United States in the District of Arizona.

Prior to and during law school, Rachelle served in the Army National Guard as an MP in a combat support role. She spent the last year of her military service with the JAG office, where she worked alongside JAG officers on administrative as well as punitive legal matters.

In her spare time, Rachelle enjoys woodworking, cycling, rock climbing, and spending time with her husband and her Vizsla, Daly. She is also conversationally fluent in Spanish.
