Defense Verdict for Louisville Ladder in Florida

Partner Adam Peck, along with Henry Salas from Miami, tried this product liability case for Louisville Ladder and Home Depot in the Southern District of Florida, Miami-Dade Division. Plaintiff claimed a defect in the ladder caused him to lose his balance and fall several feet, landing face first on the pavement. In closing argument, plaintiff’s counsel asked the jury to award plaintiff $205,000 to compensate him for medicals, lost wages, and pain, suffering and facial disfigurement. On October 31, 2007, after 3 hours of deliberations, the jury returned a verdict for defendants.
