William King Presents at the Southeastern Conference’s Annual NCAA Compliance Meeting

William King made a presentation to the Southeastern Conference’s annual NCAA Compliance Meeting on June 11, 2008 in Birmingham. King spoke on recent infractions cases before the NCAA Committee on Infractions and focused on his recent handling of a major infractions case involving excessive recruiting telephone calls. The meeting was attended by compliance officials and faculty athletics representatives from each of the SEC member institutions. King has given similar presentations in recent months to coaches and athletic department administrators at several SEC schools as well as schools belonging to the Big East Conference and Conference USA and will be giving similar presentations to two SEC institutions in coming months. King has been a frequent speaker at the SEC meetings in recent years and has worked closely with the SEC on compliance matters. He devotes a substantial portion of his practice to collegiate sports law.
