Where one sees limits, I see opportunities. I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that ingenuity and dedication make no result beyond reach or problem beyond resolution. As William Blake once said, “No bird soars too high, if he soars with his own wings.” I live and litigate with this mentality, and it has served me well.

My practice focuses on product liability, appellate, business, and catastrophic injury litigation. I have successfully tried cases to verdict in state and federal courts. I have also successfully taken and defended complex appeals in the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, Alabama Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit. I am Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated by my peers and an Associate Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. I am licensed to practice in Alabama, New York, and Massachusetts. I am one of less than a handful of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified lawyers in Alabama. I was also recently named to the 2016 Alabama edition of Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list as a top rated products liability attorney.

Prior to joining the firm, I served as a law clerk for The Honorable Sharon L. Blackburn, then Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. I earned my J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, summa cum laude, where I graduated second in the class, served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review, and played a vital role on the National Moot Court Team. I participated in five national moot court competitions, winning oral advocacy and best brief awards at the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy and the Roger J. Traynor California moot court competitions. While in school, I also served as a law clerk for the California Department of Corporations, the California Department of Justice, Trials, Writs, and Appeals Section, and Eischen & Associates. In my final year, I received the prestigious ABA-ALI Scholarship and Leadership Award, which is a faculty-nominated award given to one graduating law student at each ABA accredited law school.

Before law school, I received my B.A., cum laude, from Northern Arizona University. While at Northern Arizona, I served as the President of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and the President of Blue Key Honor Society. I was also a member of Golden Key Honor Society and Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society. During my senior year, I received the coveted Gold Axe Award, the highest student recognition bestowed by the University.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two young boys, Elias and David.  I love sports and the outdoors. I was a certified professional ski instructor before I went to law school, and I remain an avid skier that enjoys taking risks at high altitude.

I am a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, the Defense Research Institute, the Birmingham Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the New York Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.
