Logan Matthews joined the firm in 2017 after a one-year clerkship with the Honorable W. Harold Albritton III of the Middle District of Alabama. During his clerkship, Logan learned, firsthand, the practice of law in the federal court system, how to advocate effectively for clients, and tactics for being a successful trial lawyer. While taking most of his assignments from Judge Albritton, Logan also had the opportunity to work for the Honorable Myron H. Thompson, where he oversaw a variety of criminal and civil rights cases.

Logan is originally from Huntsville, Alabama. He received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, with honors, from Auburn University, where he served as Auburn’s beloved tiger mascot “Aubie.” Additionally, Logan was inducted into Spades Honorary Society, an honor given each year to the ten most influential seniors on Auburn’s campus. After completing his master’s degree, Logan graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, Logan was recognized among the top oral advocates in his class, ranked nationally in moot court competitions in Philadelphia and Chicago, and served as an Articles Editor for the Alabama Law Review. Additionally, Logan received the highest overall grade in his class in Legal Research and Writing, Trial Advocacy, and Christian Legal Thought.

Logan serves clients in a variety of practice areas, including: products liability, financial services, medical malpractice, business litigation, and NCAA compliance. In his personal time, Logan enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, watching college football, and coaching YMCA basketball. He is married to his college sweetheart, Paula, and they have two Dalmatians, Cam and Lady.

Representative Matter

  • Won a bench trial involving a breach of construction contract, recovering damages and costs in favor of client.
  • Won a plaintiff’s verdict in a prison abuse case involving an inmate who was slammed to the ground while his hands were handcuffed behind his back.
