BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (February 5, 2018) — Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Brooke Garner Malcom has been named to the 2018 Board of Directors for the Birmingham Bar Volunteer Lawyers Program (BBVLP). She will serve as the organization’s Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair.

“I am honored to continue working with the BBVLP and its outstanding staff and volunteer attorneys,” Malcom said. “The BBVLP is making an incredible difference in Birmingham by providing volunteer attorneys to help low-income citizens overcome legal roadblocks.”

Malcom has been actively involved with the BBVLP for over seven years, previously serving on its Board of Directors and as co-chair of its 2017 Pro Hops Vino! Fundraising event.

The organization was created in 1994 to promote access to justice by inspiring volunteer attorneys to provide high-quality representation at no charge to low-income families with basic civil legal needs at critical times in their lives.

Malcom defends clients in cases involving personal injury, products liability, as well as complex environmental and toxic tort matters. She was recently selected as an Honoree for the 2017 Young Professional of the Year Awards by This is Alabama.
