DRI Foundation Establishes Tribute in Honor of Lightfoot Partner Lana Olson

June 11, 2018

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (June 12, 2018) — The DRI Foundation has established a Tribute in honor of long-time DRI member and Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Lana A. Olson. The recognition was announced at a meeting of the organization’s Women in the Law Committee on June 6 and an article about the Tribute will be  featured in DRI’s For the Defense magazine.

The Tribute honors Olson’s years of service to DRI and her commitment to philanthropy and public service on behalf of the organization. Through Olson’s Tribute, donations may be made to support the DRI Foundation and its mission to promote law-related public service projects, support the judicial system and further the interests of the defense bar.

Olson has held numerous leadership positions within DRI, including:

  • Board of Directors, National Director (2015-2018)
  • Philanthropic Activities Chair (2016-2018) and Vice-Chair (2015-2016)
  • Women in the Law Committee Chair (2013-2015)

She has been instrumental in the formation and growth of the Philanthropic Activities Committee and has spearheaded the #DRICares initiative. In 2018, DRI members and affiliated organizations have already engaged in more than a dozen #DRICares public service projects around the country, and at least 25 more projects are being planned for the remainder of the year.

DRI is the leading organization of defense attorneys and in-house counsel with more than 22,000 members. As “The Voice of the Defense Bar,” DRI is the largest international membership organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation.

Olson focuses her practice on complex, high-stakes litigation in a variety of areas, including environmental and toxic torts, product liability, business litigation and catastrophic injury. Her clients are located all over the country and range from Fortune 100 multinational companies to small family businesses. For more than seven years, Olson has served as the Assistant General Counsel for a leading heavy truck component distributor.
