BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 28, 2018 ) — Yellowhammer Multimedia has named Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC attorney Elizabeth H. Huntley a recipient of its inaugural “Women of Impact” award.

The award recognizes the personal and professional accomplishments of 20 Alabama women whose “powerful contributions have moved the needle across business, government and non-profit sectors.” Huntley was profiled on Yellowhammer News and will be recognized at a reception on March 29.

“Liz is a respected leader and force for positive change in the state of Alabama,” said Lightfoot managing partner Melody Eagan. “We’re proud of her work and pleased to see her receive this wonderful recognition.”

In addition to handling a variety of litigation matters at Lightfoot, Huntley is a committed child advocate and provides legal and consultation services to government and nonprofit agencies that serve children and families. She is frequently appointed by judges to represent the legal interests of children in civil cases.

Huntley is also a frequent consultant to government on issues and legislation that impact children. She travels around the country speaking on these issues and sharing her own story. A leader in the movement to expand access to high quality pre-K to all four-year-olds in Alabama, Huntley has received several state and national awards for her work on behalf of children.

Huntley also serves as a motivational speaker to various groups and organizations where she challenges audiences to adopt her “no excuses” philosophy. In 2015, she published her personal memoir, “More Than A Bird,” which recounts her childhood journey “from unimaginable darkness to radiance.”
