Lightfoot’s Tenley Armstrong and Brandon Essig Present to Members of the Alabama Nursing Home Association

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (May 16, 2018) — On April 24, Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partners Tenley E. Armstrong and Brandon K. Essig presented at the annual meeting of the Alabama Nursing Home Association. Their presentation, titled “Government Enforcement Trends in Healthcare,” touched on current legal and regulatory issues affecting nursing home operators in the state.

Armstrong regularly counsels clients operating in the highly regulated healthcare sector on compliance issues involving Stark, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act and other federal and state regulations. She has also represented clients accused of a variety of criminal violations including healthcare fraud and government contract procurement fraud.

Essig joined Lightfoot after nearly eight years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Middle District of Alabama where he tried multiple felony jury trials a year, including public corruption, money laundering and healthcare fraud cases. His experience also includes serving in the legal department of a major defense contractor.
