McCarthy Speaks at Narcotics Training Seminar for Alabama District Attorneys’ Association

On October 25, 2017, Lightfoot partner Terry McCarthy addressed members of the Alabama District Attorneys’ Association at its Narcotics Training Seminar. McCarthy’s speech focused on recent decisions impacting the Alabama and Federal Rules of Evidence, Confrontation Clause issues and evidentiary hurdles associated with getting social media admitted into evidence.

McCarthy is considered one of the leading authorities in Alabama in the field of evidence. He serves as co-author (along with Charles Gamble and Robert Goodwin) of the two leading treatises on the Alabama Rules of Evidence: Gamble’s Alabama Rules of Evidence and McElroy’s Alabama Evidence. He also serves on the advisory committee for the Alabama Rules of Evidence, teaches evidence courses as an adjunct professor and frequently speaks on evidence issues at legal education seminars.
