Jack Sharman Discusses Trump-Russia Investigation on MSNBC Programs
December 6, 2017
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (December 7, 2017) — Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Jack Sharman appeared on two MSNBC programs this week to discuss the ongoing investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller into possible Russian influence on the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Sharman was the former special counsel to the House Banking Committee during its Whitewater investigation of President Bill Clinton in the 1990s.
He was a guest on the “The 11th Hour with Brian Williams” on Monday to discuss whether President Donald Trump is immune to obstruction of justice charges and if impeachment is a foreseeable possibility. This was Sharman’s third time appearing on the program.
On Tuesday, Sharman was interviewed on “Meet the Press Daily” on MSNBC. He provided legal insight regarding reports that Mueller had subpoenaed President Trump’s bank records as part of his investigation.
Sharman has practiced law for nearly three decades and currently leads Lightfoot’s White Collar Criminal Defense and Corporate Investigations practice group. His practice focuses on internal corporate investigations, business crime, grand jury investigations, government-contract fraud, public corruption, criminal and civil defense of healthcare providers and criminal matters involving the Anti-Kickback Statute and the False Claims Act.
In 2016, Sharman was appointed as special counsel to the Alabama House Judiciary Committee for the impeachment investigation of former Alabama Governor Robert Bentley. He released his report in April 2017.
