Lightfoot Welcomes Sixth Annual Lightfoot Academy Class

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC is proud to welcome the sixth annual class of Lightfoot Academy participants. Six college seniors and incoming law students will participate in the firm’s immersive, weeklong pre-law program.
Since its launch in 2021, the Lightfoot Academy has provided aspiring trial lawyers with direct experience of the day-to-day life of a litigator. The program is open to rising college seniors and incoming law students from diverse backgrounds who have a strong interest in pursuing litigation careers.
This year’s participants are:

- Kermina Wadeh (Vanderbilt University)
Inspired by Lightfoot’s summer clerkship program, the Lightfoot Academy provides participants with an inside look at the practice of litigation. Throughout the week, students gain firsthand exposure to the work of trial lawyers by attending client and strategy meetings, observing case development, reviewing legal filings and seeing how attorneys prepare for and manage complex disputes. Each participant is also paired with mentors who provide guidance and support throughout the program.
In addition to hands-on learning opportunities, the Academy features interactive workshops focused on the skills, mindset and professional habits that contribute to success in law school and legal practice. These sessions help students better understand the realities of a legal career while providing practical tools for navigating the path ahead.
Participants also have the opportunity to experience Lightfoot’s collaborative culture and build meaningful professional relationships. A variety of social events throughout the week allow students to connect with attorneys across the firm, including associates who can share their perspectives on law school, litigation practice and launching a successful legal career.
