September 21, 2022

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC Houston partners  Brian C. BoyleJared I. Levinthal and Robert A. Wilkins have all been named to the 2022 Texas Super Lawyers list by Super Lawyers. Thomson Reuters awards this designation to only 5% of lawyers in Texas each year.

Boyle, Levinthal and Wilkins were all recognized in the Business Litigation category. This marks the 9th consecutive year for Wilkins and 10th consecutive year for Levinthal on the list. It also marks the second consecutive year that Super Lawyers has honored Boyle, a previous Rising Stars honoree.

“We’re proud to have Brian, Jared and Rob on the Lightfoot team, and congratulate them on their continued recognition,” said Lightfoot managing partner Melody Eagan. “This achievement speaks to their skills and the talent of our thriving Houston office.”

Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area.

Boyle regularly handles cases involving breach of contract, tortious interference, common law and statutory fraud, negligent misrepresentation, business disparagement, breach of fiduciary duty, fraudulent transfers, trade secret misappropriation, state and federal environmental statutes, and qui tam and government investigations. A versatile litigator, he has experience from the trial court level through the highest civil appellate court in Texas. For his international matters, Boyle regularly handles cross-border discovery, choice of law and foreign law application, and issues related to the activities of American companies in projects outside of the U.S.

Levinthal represents plaintiffs and defendants in all types of litigation, including complex commercial cases with millions of dollars — and often the company itself — at stake. He has practiced since 1997 and handles disputes involving commercial and business issues, product liability, professional malpractice, intellectual property, insurance coverage and bad faith, serious personal injury and wrongful death. Since 2013, Levinthal has routinely been named a “Super Lawyer” in the Texas Monthly listing of top attorneys in the state, and he was named one of the top 100 lawyers in Houston by Super Lawyers for 2019.

Wilkins has practiced for 18 years, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts as well as before arbitral tribunals. He has a particular focus on commercial litigation involving the oil and gas industry, including business divorce cases, fiduciary duty issues, breach of contract claims, securities disputes and related matters. Wilkins has also handled personal injury and tort litigation, First Amendment issues and intellectual property disputes. He has been recognized as a Texas “Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly every year since 2014.
