Fastcase Names Sam McAllister as a 2022 Fastcase 50 Honoree
July 12, 2022
Fastcase has named Lightfoot, Franklin & White’s director of litigation technology Sam McAllister to its 2022 Fastcase 50 list. The annual list recognizes leading trailblazers and emerging voices in the law and legal technology.
This year’s Fastcase 50 panelists recognized McAllister’s groundbreaking work in developing cutting-edge multimedia trial presentations, proprietary software, custom platforms and apps that help Lightfoot be more efficient, cost-effective and collaborative for clients. During his time at Lightfoot, Sam has developed an app that aids in jury selection decisions, a workflow platform that helps lawyers and clients communicate more efficiently about objectives and strategy, and an interactive, continually-updated map showing Apex Doctrine precedent for federal and state courts across the country.
“The Fastcase 50 award celebrates makers, and McAllister exemplifies the build-your-own spirit of the honor,” Fastcase’s award panelists wrote regarding McAllister’s work.
Created in 2011, the Fastcase 50 honors a diverse group of lawyers, legal technologists, policymakers, judges, law librarians, bar association executives, and people from all walks of life. Honorees range from well-known voices in the law and legal technology to others who have made important, but unheralded, contributions. As fellow Fastcase 50 honoree and legal technology influencer Bob Ambrogi wrote in a recent post recognizing the 2022 honorees, "If you are looking for a scorecard naming those who are leading the charge on innovation in law, you can do no better than the Fastcase 50."
McAllister provides Lightfoot’s clients a unique blend of art and science tailored specifically for the fast-paced world of high-stakes litigation. He has been with the firm for 15 years and is an integral part of expanding innovation into all aspects of Lightfoot’s work. He is the leader of the firm’s Case Clarity group, which provides highly-developed technology to clients throughout the duration of a case, e-discovery collaboration with Lightfoot lawyers and adaptive evidence models to make complex ideas simple. Ask any lawyer who knows him — Sam does what it takes to help you win a case and is known for bringing calm to the most intense of trials.
