Liz Huntley a Keynote Speaker for Lean On: Alabama Conference

March 5, 2017

Elizabeth “Liz” Huntley of Lightfoot, Franklin & White served as the morning general session keynote speaker at the Lean On: Alabama’s 2017 “Women’s Lifestyle and Leadership Conference” on Saturday, March 4. The event was held at The University of Alabama’s Ferguson Student Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Huntley’s inspirational speech discussed her personal experience growing up in poverty and how she succeeded in life, which is detailed in her book “More than a Bird.”

In addition to handling large corporate litigation matters at Lightfoot, Huntley is a committed child advocate and provides legal and consultation services to government and nonprofit agencies that serve children and families. She is frequently appointed by judges to represent the legal interests of children in civil cases. Huntley is also a frequent consultant to government on issues and legislation that impact children. She travels around the country speaking on these issues and sharing her own story. A leader in the movement to expand access to high quality pre-K to all four-year-olds in Alabama, Huntley has received several state and national awards for her work on behalf of children.

The Lean On: Alabama conference’s inaugural event promoted collaboration, development and investment among women and in the greater community. The event provided opportunities for Alabama women to build relationships as they shared knowledge and experiences, while also learning from others who forged the path to success as leaders in their families, communities, churches, government and business.
