Lightfoot Associate Kayla Williams Speaks at 2025 Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC associate Kayla R. Williams recently spoke at the 2025 Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium on Oct. 17. Williams participated in a panel titled “Current Events in Sports Law: The Fight for Equity — Equal Pay, NIL Expansion and Brand Representation.”
Moderated by Eric Blevins, sports law program manager at Tulane’s Center for Sport, the session explored key developments in sports law, including gender equity, athlete compensation and brand representation. Williams joined a distinguished group of panelists, including Tiffany Shepard (FIFA World Cup 2026), Torrey Feldman (FIFA World Cup 2026 and University of Miami) and Erinn Banks (Tulane University), to changing trends in the sports industry are reshaping legal frameworks and creating new opportunities for athletes and institutions.
The annual symposium brings together attorneys, academics and industry leaders to highlight issues impacting women in sports and promote greater inclusion within the profession.
Williams is an associate in Lightfoot’s Business Litigation and NCAA Compliance & Investigations practice groups. She primarily handles cases involving toxic torts, product liability, employment discrimination and collegiate name, image and likeness (NIL) issues. A former world champion gymnast, she earned her J.D. from Tulane Law School, where she completed the school’s nationally recognized sports law program.
