Lightfoot Secures Summary Judgment in Texas Commercial Litigation Case

October 23, 2025

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC partner Kaitlyn M. Faucett and associate Grant A. Bryan obtained summary judgment dismissing all claims against the sales arm of a global electronics distributor in a seven-figure lawsuit pending in Bexar County, Texas.

The plaintiff alleged claims of vicarious liability and gross negligence arising from a low-speed rear-end collision. Lightfoot successfully argued that the client’s field marketing and sales representative was off duty and not acting within the scope of his employment, defeating all theories of liability against the company.

On behalf of the client, Bryan drafted and argued the motions that led the court to grant summary judgment in favor of the defense. The ruling ends the litigation in favor of our client without the need for trial.
