Lightfoot Wins Defense Verdict in Workplace Retaliation Case

November 26, 2019

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC lawyers Liz Huntley and William Morrow recently secured a defense verdict in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Lightfoot represented two executives from a large municipality who faced claims that they retaliated against the plaintiff for making complaints about racial discrimination in the workplace.

Following a four-day trial, the jury returned a verdict in favor of Lightfoot’s clients.

Huntley’s practice focuses on complex civil matters. Her cases routinely include issues involving product liability, personal injury, financial services and governmental entities. Huntley represents clients across a wide range of industries including food manufacturing, banking, machinery manufacturing and wood-product manufacturing.

Morrow has practiced for more than 20 years, advocating for clients in a variety of venues across the state of Alabama and the Southeast. His practice primarily focuses on product liability, personal injury and employment. Morrow has first-chair jury trial experience in both commercial and personal injury cases, including representing companies sued under Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
