Melody Eagan and Lana Olson Named to Benchmark Litigation’s ‘Top 250 Women in Litigation’ for 2019

Benchmark Litigation has named Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC managing partner Melody Eagan and partner Lana Olson to its “Top 250 Women in Litigation” list for 2019. This is the third year in a row that Olson has received this prestigious ranking. 

The list recognizes leading female lawyers who have participated in some of the most significant litigation matters in recent history and who have earned the respect of their peers and clients. Attorneys featured in the Top 250 Women in Litigation are selected through an extensive, six-month research process, which includes a review of their recent casework, input from attorneys at peer legal institutions and client feedback on their performance.

Eagan has practiced law at Lightfoot for more than 20 years and is the firm’s first female managing partner. She focuses her practice on product liability and high-stakes catastrophic injury cases, and she serves as appellate counsel for a number of clients. Eagan serves as regional counsel for several clients and has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict throughout the Southeast. She served as president of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and is a member of the Defense Research Institute, where she has served as a State Liaison for the DRI Women in the Law Committee.

Olson focuses her practice on complex, high-stakes litigation in a variety of areas, including environmental and toxic torts, product liability, business litigation and catastrophic injury. Her clients are located all over the country and range from Fortune 100 multinational companies to small family businesses. For more than seven years, Olson served as the Assistant General Counsel for a leading heavy truck component distributor. She is a long-time active member of DRI and currently sits on its Executive Committee as Secretary-Treasurer.
