Reid Carpenter and Jeff Doss Named to Benchmark Litigation 40 & Under Hot List - South

Lightfoot’s Reid Carpenter and Jeff Doss have been named to Benchmark Litigation’s 40 & Under Hot List - South for 2022. This marks Carpenter’s second consecutive year on the list, and the first for Doss.

An annual guide to the leading U.S. litigation firms and lawyers, Benchmark Litigation is the only publication that focuses exclusively on litigation in the United States. The guide’s 40 & Under Hot Lists, which are organized by region, recognize the next generation of high-performing litigators. It is compiled through extensive research, including interviews with peers and clients.

Carpenter maintains a general litigation practice at Lightfoot, but most of his experience falls in three key areas: natural gas, product liability and healthcare. His natural gas work involves the regular representation of an operator in Alabama. His product liability experience includes the defense of several major manufacturers in the automotive, industrial, agricultural and forestry equipment sectors. He has also handled several cases involving allegations of defective firearms and ammunition. Carpenter focuses the remainder of his practice on defending doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice litigation.

Doss focuses his practice on trial advocacy in white-collar criminal defense and complex civil litigation. In addition to conducting internal investigations for private and public entities, he has defended businesses and individuals in connection with grand jury investigations, administrative enforcement proceedings and criminal prosecutions at the trial and appellate levels.
