Terry McCarthy Speaks to Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association About Admitting and Excluding Social Media Evidence at Trial

January 24, 2018

On January 20, 2018, Lightfoot partner Terry McCarthy spoke to the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association at their two day seminar on the death penalty.  McCarthy focused his talk on evidentiary issues associated with the use of social media evidence at trial.

In addition to his diverse trial and appellate practice at Lightfoot, McCarthy is also a leading authority on evidence law.  He is co-author (along with Charles Gamble and Robert Goodwin) of the two leading treatises on Alabama evidence law: Gamble’s Alabama Rules of Evidence and the forthcoming seventh edition of McElroy’s Alabama Evidence.  McCarthy serves as an adjunct professor of evidence law and is a member of the advisory committee to the Alabama Rules of Evidence.
