Obtaining defense verdict in premises liability case.

Lightfoot attorneys obtained a defense verdict for motor manufacturer in a premises liability case arising out of an accident that had occurred at its facility in Tennessee. The plaintiff claimed that a heavy metal door with a pneumatic door closer malfunctioned and smashed his fingers. He sought $500,000 in damages. After three days of trial in the Western District of Tennessee, the jury explicitly found in their verdict form that the accident was the fault of the plaintiff.
