Obtaining favorable settlement in product liability case.

Lightfoot was retained post-verdict by the defendant, a metal fabricator, in a product liability matter in which a $10.5 million verdict was returned against the defendant by an Alabama jury. Lightfoot handled motions for a new trial and judgment as a matter of law and challenged the excessiveness of the verdict. A day-long hearing was held on the post-trial motions, and an order was entered granting our client's motion for a new trial. The case subsequently settled.
