Annie is a commercial litigator, representing clients in a wide range of matters, including product liability, general commercial and environmental claims.
Before joining Lightfoot, Annie practiced at a Birmingham-based Am Law 200 firm, where she focused on real estate litigation, leasing issues, complex landlord-tenant disputes and land use projects. She also gained valuable experience as a judicial intern for the U.S. District Judges Madeline H. Haikala and Corey L. Maze of the Northern District of Alabama, and as an extern for Chief Judge L. Scott Coogler of the same court. She also held two summer law clerkships.
Annie earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Alabama. While in law school, she was highly involved in student leadership and scholarly activities, serving as vice president and class senator of the Student Bar Association, and as publications editor for Volume 48 of the Law and Psychology Review. Annie was also a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society and the recipient of the Anna C. Curry Leadership Award for outstanding student leadership.
Beyond her litigation practice, Annie is actively engaged in the Birmingham legal and business communities, offering her clients a well-rounded perspective on their challenges. She serves on the junior boards of the Mountain Brook Chamber of Commerce, Smile-A-Mile (a nonprofit organization serving children with cancer), and the Friends of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. She was also elected to the Birmingham Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Executive Committee (2024-2025) and is involved in several professional organizations, including the Culverhouse College of Commerce Executives Society and the Economic Development Association of Alabama.
Outside of the office, you can likely find Annie cheering on the Crimson Tide at their football and basketball games. She enjoys exploring Birmingham’s vibrant culinary scene, running or walking with friends, and traveling whenever she has the opportunity.
