Biography
Jared Levinthal is an accomplished, respected trial lawyer who has handled just about every type of lawsuit for clients big and small.
Jared is a board-certified civil trial lawyer and managing partner of Lightfoot’s Houston office. For nearly 30 years, he has represented plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of matters, including commercial and business disputes, product liability, professional malpractice, intellectual property, insurance coverage, bad faith, wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury. Jared is known for his preparation and tireless work ethic, working shoulder-to-shoulder with clients and experts and crafting clear, compelling narratives for trials and arbitrations.
Jared’s courtroom experience spans Texas and beyond, and his track record includes significant victories for clients big and small, on both sides of the docket. Most recently, after being retained shortly before trial, he led a team to a complete defense verdict in a $9 million personal injury lawsuit after a nine-day trial in Galveston County. His courtroom victories have earned national recognition, including Top Verdict honors for one of the “Top 20 Verdicts in Texas" and “Top 50 Commercial Litigation Verdicts in the U.S." He has appeared on the Thomson Reuters Texas Super Lawyers list every year since 2013 and was named one of Houston’s “Top 100 Lawyers” in 2019. Jared also holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Litigation Counsel of America.
Board certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction held by fewer than 700 lawyers statewide, Jared earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law, with Honors, Order of the Coif, in 1997. He grew up in Houston and is married to Angie, who is also an attorney. When Jared is not working or being told what to do by his daughters, he loves a round of golf with friends.
