Kaitlyn Faucett protects what matters most to clients — their business.

Kaitlyn Faucett is a trusted litigator who represents clients in high-stakes product liability and commercial disputes, with a strong focus on defending leading manufacturers. As relationship counsel for several national clients, she manages complex litigation portfolios with an eye toward long-term outcomes, operational efficiency and alignment with a client’s business goals.

Often called upon to lead cases in challenging jurisdictions, Kaitlyn is known for her mindful, strategic approach that balances decisive advocacy with an understanding of litigation’s real-world impact. Her practice includes breach of contract and fiduciary duty matters, shareholder and partnership disputes and complex product liability claims. Kaitlyn also litigates on behalf of healthcare companies and supports the firm’s white-collar defense teams.

Clients value Kaitlyn’s precision, foresight and ability to guide them through nuanced decisions with clarity and confidence. Drawing on her experience as in-house counsel for a boutique energy company, as well as her background growing up in a family business, she understands the pressures her clients face and builds strategies that reflect both legal and commercial priorities.

Kaitlyn has secured favorable outcomes for clients in a range of significant matters, including:

Serving as lead counsel for an oil services contract dispute and obtaining full summary judgment for the plaintiff, resulting in a seven-figure win
Resolving a personal injury case on behalf of the plaintiff after eight years of litigation and multiple appeals, recovering nearly $750,000, or approximately 60% of the total claim value
Obtaining successful venue transfers to move cases into courts with appropriate jurisdiction
Defending product manufacturers in matters involving eight-figure exposure, including a six-vehicle pileup involving a rental moving vehicle and a similar collision against a leading automaker in notoriously difficult venues

Kaitlyn is active in firm leadership and currently serves on both the Marketing & Business Development Committee and the Recruiting Committee. She is also the hiring partner for Lightfoot’s Houston office.

Originally from Buffalo, New York, Kaitlyn lives in Houston with her husband, Ryan and their two young children. During football season, you’ll find her cheering on her hometown Buffalo Bills.

Representative Matters

Defending a client in a breach of contract arbitration proceeding brought by a former shareholder. Following a full hearing, secured the dismissal of all claims against the client as well as an award of expenses and attorneys’ fees. A subsequent appeal of the arbitrator’s award by the plaintiff, a former shareholder, was dismissed by the Houston Court of Appeals.
Serving as second chair, successfully defended against a multimillion-dollar breach of contract claim asserted in arbitration by a former consultant for a litigation funding business. Following a full hearing, the consultant’s claims were entirely dismissed. The final judgment also awarded the client expenses and attorneys’ fees.
Representing a college student abducted from a local apartment complex in a premises liability action. The incident left the client with horrific, life-altering injuries. As a result of the suit, the apartment complex implemented wholesale improvements to the property’s security and entered into a confidential financial settlement.
Obtaining a default judgment against a former employee who engaged in a pervasive scheme to defraud her employer.
After successfully compelling a multimillion-dollar breach of contract claim asserted by an energy company’s former employee to arbitration, Kaitlyn also represented the client during the employee’s appeal to the Texas Supreme Court. Following the submission of complete briefing on the merits, the Texas Supreme Court upheld the trial court’s decision. The case was subsequently dismissed by the American Arbitration Association for want of prosecution.
Representing an oil field services provider as a plaintiff in a breach of contract dispute and obtaining summary judgment. The decision was ultimately upheld by the Houston Court of Appeals, which also awarded the client all attorneys’ fees for both the trial and appeal.
