Lana Olson Gives Opening Remarks at 2022 DRI Women in the Law Seminar

Lightfoot Partner Lana Olson gave opening remarks at the 2022 Defense Research Institute’s Women in the Law Seminar. She welcomed the female professionals in attendance and provided a DRI update. Olson was joined by associates Kaitlyn Faucett and Meghan Cole in Austin for the annual three-day seminar.

Olson was named DRI’s president-elect in October 2021 and will assume presidency this coming October. She will be DRI’s fifth female president along with the first female president from Alabama. The Defense Research Institute is composed of over 16,000 attorneys and the largest international membership organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. With over 65,000 experts and 29 substantive committees, DRI works to provide opportunities for research and leadership.

Aside from her involvement with DRI, Lana Olson holds membership with the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, Birmingham Bar Association, Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel and International Association of Defense Counsel. She maintains a complex litigation practice with cases in a variety of sectors, environmental, toxic tort, product liability, catastrophic injury and employment claims. Olson’s work has been recognized by Super Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation and Best Lawyers in America.
