Overview

Lightfoot litigators deftly handle complex international disputes.

The modern economy has gone global — and so has business litigation. At Lightfoot, our talented litigators have successfully resolved cross-border, multijurisdictional and transnational disputes for both domestic and international clients. This includes matters in Austria, Canada, Germany, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Palau, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the Virgin Islands and many other countries and territories.

The International Disputes practice group at Lightfoot includes a former justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau. Clients benefit from his experience working closely with judges and lawyers around the world. We also have a partner who spent the majority of his career working on cross-border litigation for leading energy industry companies. The rest of the group’s members have equally qualified backgrounds for doing this complex and high-stakes work.

In addition to Lightfoot's experienced cross-border litigators, we have cultivated a global network of contacts to help us thoughtfully tailor our litigation strategies to best adapt with local customs, courts and laws. This is often the critical difference between winning and losing in foreign venues.

Lightfoot's versatile lawyers are adept at working with domestic and international clients from a variety of industry sectors. This includes energy and natural resources, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, software and telecommunications. We also handle cross-border disputes involving intellectual property, product liability and other claims.

We offer our clients a full range of litigation services and support, including complex commercial litigation, international arbitrations and policy advice. In addition, we frequently defend our international clients' interests in U.S. federal and state courts.
