Jerry L. Rios offers clients more than 30 years of litigation experience across Texas.
Before joining Lightfoot, Jerry owned and managed a private statewide litigation defense practice in Texas for three decades. He brings more than 30 years of extensive trial, litigation and management experience to his role managing Lightfoot’s Houston office.
A seasoned litigator, Jerry has led and served on litigation trial teams for national companies in complex litigation matters across Texas, both in state and federal courts. He represents clients in catastrophic personal injury actions, product liability, trucking and transportation, premises liability, security liability and consumer fraud matters. Clients appreciate Jerry’s focus on seeking the best possible results while eliminating needless expenses in the litigation process.
In addition to his litigation practice, Jerry is also heavily involved in alternative dispute resolution, representing national clients in mediations and arbitrations, as well as serving the Texas legal community as both a mediator and an arbitrator. As a credentialed mediator through the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association, Jerry is known for his ethics and hard work in assisting parties to reach a fair and unbiased resolution.
Jerry has previously served on the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee for Attorney Discipline (Houston Division) and the State Bar of Texas Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee (Houston Division). He was also a professor for the National Insurance Crime Bureau. A native Texan, Jerry resides with his family in Houston. Outside of his legal practice, he is an avid hunter and golfer, and he enjoys fishing and sports of most every kind.
