Lightfoot, Franklin & White Welcomes Joshua Alford as Director of Investigations

October 16, 2025

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC is pleased to welcome Joshua Alford to the firm’s Birmingham office as Director of Investigations. Josh brings more than two decades of investigative experience from his service as a special agent with both the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), complemented by his training as an attorney.

As part of Lightfoot’s Litigation Support team, Josh will work closely with the firm’s trial lawyers to develop and assess evidence and conduct case investigations. Drawing on his extensive experience with public corruption and white-collar matters, Josh will guide clients through independent internal investigations to identify potential misconduct and reduce exposure to civil litigation or criminal enforcement.

“Detailed investigations often determine outcomes, and bringing this capability in-house enables faster access to facts and sharper strategy,” said Melody H. Eagan, Lightfoot’s managing partner. “With Josh’s FBI and NCIS background and legal training, he strengthens our Litigation Support team and deepens the solutions we deliver to our clients in high-stakes matters.”

Earlier in his career, Josh served as a legal advisor to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, providing counsel to federal and state law enforcement on child exploitation, cybercrime and trafficking statutes. He supported investigative units with statutory interpretation and case preparation across multiple jurisdictions.
