Meghan Cole Authors Attorney at Work Article on Managing Large Case Dockets

April 3, 2024

Lightfoot, Franklin & White LLC associate Meghan S. Cole published a recent article with Attorney at Work, providing tips on how attorneys can efficiently manage large case dockets.

In the article titled “4 Tips for Attorneys Struggling to Manage Large Case Dockets,” Cole shares tips and strategies she has learned throughout her practice, focusing on the management of case dockets and the effective communication of relevant information to clients without bogging down their inboxes. Her strategies emphasize the usage of available tools, simplifying case updates, scheduling calls with clients and seeking clarification when necessary.

“Each client is different and has distinct demands on their schedules,” writes Cole. “Sometimes weekly calls are untenable, and a client prefers access to a dashboard that houses all relevant information. Other clients might not mind a large inbox and prefer emails whenever an update comes through on their cases. The most important thing is to conform to the client’s preferred communication style.”

Cole defends clients in a wide variety of disputes, including toxic tort, product liability, commercial litigation and medical malpractice cases. She represents national chemical manufacturers, Fortune 100 technology companies, leading healthcare organizations and a global pest control company. Some of her most notable achievements include defending a Fortune 500 chemical manufacturer in precedent-setting environmental contamination lawsuits in courts around the country. She also helped secure a favorable six-figure settlement for a leading U.S. student housing developer in a construction defect case.
